Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress in the film industry, TV and stage since the end of the 1970s. She's been an professional actor for 27 years. Her first appearance on stage as a character in the production The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) on Broadway off-Broadway. In the following year she was offered her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. Her biggest break for her career was in 1992 when she was a character in the film Basic Instinct. It was in the movie The Firm however that she was cast as the female lead for the very first time, and this was also against famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. The 1990s saw her professional career was a collaboration with Hollywood's top stars such as Gwyneth in Sliding Doors, Hugh Grant Mickey Blue Eyes as well as Julie Andrews Relative Values. In the international hit crime procedural Crime Minds the character of Dr. Alex Blake was recently as played by her.
